What is Apple Pay

Apple Pay or the Wallet app on your iPhone is also an Online Payment System developed by Apple. It works similarly to Google Pay as you can make payments to sup[ported banks, vendors, and users within the system. But unlike Google Pay, Apple Pay is only available for iOS users.

Apple Pay also features Contactless Payment, NFC, and more. And when it comes to payment authentication, Apple Pay allows biometrics like Touch ID and Face ID along with PINs. It has privacy and security features to keep your money safe.

Apple Pay is Apple’s own mobile payment app, Android devices cannot use it. To use Apple Pay, you must have an iPhone 6 (or Plus), iPhone 6S (or Plus), or an Apple Watch.

Not at all. Only Apple devices are compatible with Apple Pay. Android offers Google Pay. You should be aware that Google Pay means something quite different outside of India.

Based on the UPI standard in India, Google Pay is a P2P and B2C payment system.

In the West, Google Pay and Apple Pay are made for NFC transactions made directly with debit or credit cards.

How to set up Google Pay

Even though Google Pay hasn’t garnered as much attention as it did when it first came out, it’s still a very competitive alternative on the majority of Android smartphones. If you own an Android phone that isn’t a Samsung handset with Samsung Pay, you have the best option.

Step 1 Download Android Pay from the Google Play App Store.

Step 2 Open the app and tap on Add Credit or Debit card.

Step 3 You can choose cards already associated with your Google Account or add a new one. Agree to the terms and conditions that pop up. Then verify your card via email (you’ll receive a number to enter into the app)

Step 4 That’s it! Now, the next time you see a card reader with the Android Pay logo, just open the app, choose your card, and tap to pay.

How to set up Samsung Pay

My preferred mobile payment method is Samsung Pay because it can be used with more checkout terminals than other options. In fact, a technology from Samsung’s acquisition of LoopPay makes it even more functional on older devices with magnetic stripe readers.

Here’s how to set it up.

Step 1 Open up Samsung Pay, which should be pre-installed on your Samsung smartphone. (If for some reason you don’t have it, get it here.)

Step 2 If you’re prompted to sign in, use your Samsung account credentials or create an account. This is where you’ll also create a PIN for accessing your cards before payment.

Step 3 Tap credit/debit cards and then tap “Add.”

Step 4 Use the camera viewfinder to center your credit card. This allows your phone to capture the card number, expiration date, and your name. You can also enter this manually.

Step 5 Next add the verification code.

Step 6 You’ll need to confirm your card with a code sent to you via email or text message from your bank. Enter this in.

Step 7 Now you’re ready to go. Samsung lets you swipe up from the bottom of the home screen to easily access your cards when you’re ready to pay, and you’ll verify your identity with a pre-set pin code or your irises (if you have a newer Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8+ smartphone.

Step 8 Samsung Pay is even offering a temporary promotion for a free $20 gift card for registering your first card, which you can use anywhere Samsung Pay is accepted.
